EarthBound was released on the SNES in Japan. 27 August 1994We had to wait for the return to Nintendo 3DS in June 1995 in the US and in 2016 in Europe. This is the second installment in the Mother series, following 1989's EarthBound Beginnings, followed by Mother 3.
If you've never played the series, the first two episodes are available in the Nintendo Switch Online subscription catalogue. Mother 3 was released on the Game Boy Advance in 2006, but never made it to the West despite fan demands.
