As announced on the HoyoLab portal, the work will start on: tomorrow 23:00, Tuesday 7 November 2023. From that moment on, access to the game will be impossible and anyone who connects will be disconnected. Additionally, the 4.2 update will be released at the same time and you can start downloading it. Barring unforeseen circumstances, the maintenance should last 5 hours, so you will be able to start playing the new content from 04:00 on the morning of November 8th.
According to tradition, at the end of the work Hoyoverse will give a bonus of 300 Primogemme, to which another 300 will be added for solving problems in the game. 600 free Initial Gems, a bonus that is definitely useful considering the new banners. All players will be able to redeem them through Paimon’s inbox, accessible from the pause menu, provided they have reached Adventure Rank 5 or higher.
Pre-installation already available on PC and mobile devices
PC and mobile players can now run the game pre-installation Genshin Impact update 4.2 files to speed up times after the full update is available.
On iOS and Android you can do this directly from the game’s home screen or in the resource settings. But on PC, just click on the relevant option on the Launcher’s home page. Since PS5 and PS4 do not support preload functions for updates, users playing on these platforms will need to download the full update when it becomes available.
